Ever walk into a space and feel instantly inspired? That’s how we felt when we first caught a glimpse of Portland-based photographer Kaitlin Green’s modern home. Fresh but still timeless. Minimal yet charming. Her 2,000-square-foot dwelling is full of fun details and natural textures that invite you to linger. Finding ourselves allured by her style and space, we thought we’d share a few of our favorite design details.
1. Bentwood Caned Chairs
It’s no secret that caned chairs have been making a resurgence, especially as dining room seating. While beautiful in all spaces, we’ve recently been loving this look in the kitchen. Here, the natural materials of the TON bentwood chairs bring warmth and texture, softening a room that can otherwise lean sterile.
2. An All-Tile Wall
The simplicity and sheer impact of using all one tile on the wall is a design tip to take note of. Above, Kaitlin opted for a neutral palette to keep the space feeling fresh and modern. The vertical orientation of the tile also helps draw the eye up to the skylights while creating contrast from the horizontal lines of the open shelving and kitchen cabinet pulls.
