Step Inside: Schoolhouse Portland

Step Inside: Schoolhouse Portland

Located in the industrial district of Northwest Portland, our flagship store resides on the ground floor of our factory and headquarters. Here we manufacture our lighting and homewares the old fashioned way - as one team under one roof. Designed by Portland architect John V. Bennes in 1910, our brick factory building was originally built as the Pacific Hardware and Steel warehouse. When Schoolhouse purchased it in 2010, it took nearly a year of restoration to uncover the building’s original character. The result is an open space that is equal parts historic and modern - the perfect framework for our assortment of modern heirlooms.

Inspired by the lush greenery that can be found throughout the Pacific Northwest, our 5,000 square foot showroom is ever-changing and rooted in bringing the outside in. With an ample collection of light fixtures, hardware, porch accessories, original artwork, and homewares, each new season brings a fresh look and feel to our Portland store.
