The circular pattern on Dansk’s Ellipse salad bowl is no accident: It’s staved teak, made using a sustainable process where segments of wood are joined together, much like a wine barrel. It’s all crafted to hold up beautifully over many years. Don’t miss the oval-shaped rim, either—it’s a Jens Quistgaard original.

Care:
After each use, clean with a damp cloth or wash with warm, soapy water, rinse with plain water and air dry thoroughly. Always hand-wash.
To take care of stains, rub baking soda over the area and give it a gentle rinse with water.
Maintain the natural wood color by occasionally applying a light coating of food-grade mineral oil after washing and drying. Then wipe clean with a soft cloth.
Special Notes:
This is made of natural teak, so variations in color and graining between pieces is to be expected (and embraced!).
Measurement Info
What is the backset size?
The measurement from the door edge to the center of the bore hole. Most latchbolt backsets are 2-3/8” or 2-3/4”.
What does handing mean?
The direction the door swings. Handing is always determined from the exterior or “outside” of the door (for example: porch to entry, hallway to bedroom, bedroom to closet). When facing the exterior of the door, whichever side the hinges are on will determine the desired handing. If the hinges are on the left, choose Left handing. If the hinges are on the right, choose Right handing.
